Day 2 of the Whispers of Caribbean Isles Project started with improvements to the first session's setup. With a Dino-Lite microscope, a mat and scales for measuring, and a new camera for close-ups, the objects could be viewed better by participants in Port of Spain.

Participants in Port of Spain and Cambridge took part in the opening of boxes containing materials from Trinidad and Tobago, held at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA).

Objects coming out of the boxes continued being of the Saladoid style, many coming from excavations conducted by Geoffrey Bushnell (1903-1978) in the early 20th century.

Objects from Tobago took the spotlight today as ceramic sherds, rims, adornos, spindles, and more came out of the boxes.

A piece of particular interest was an adorno that, after considerable debate, was agreed to be a manatee.

SLIDO questions were asked throughout the session, and the participants were surprised at the end with the reveal of a box of documents that had been found alongside the materials in storage. The box held notes and photographs from Geoffrey Bushnell and corresponded with the objects that had been handled during the session.
